Using continuous electrical conductivity measurements to derive major solute concentrations in karst systems

چکیده

Hydrochemical data of karst springs provide valuable insights into the internal hydrodynamical functioning systems and support model structure identification. However, collection high-frequency time series major solute species is limited by analysis costs. In this study, we develop a method to retrieve individual concentration their uncertainty at high temporal resolution for using continuous observations electrical conductivity ( EC $$ \mathrm{EC} ) low-frequency ionic measurements. Due large ion content non-negligible concentrations aqueous complexes in systems, each occurring as free part are computed separately. Apparent soil electrical conductivity measurements in agriculture

The field-scale application of apparent soil electrical conductivity (ECa) to agriculture has its origin in the measurement of soil salinity, which is an arid-zone problem associated with irrigated agricultural land and with areas having shallow water tables. Apparent soil electrical conductivity is influenced by a combination of physico-chemical properties including soluble salts, clay content...

Using measurements to derive the worst-case execution time

Execution time analysis is used in the development of real-time and embedded systems to derive the timing estimates required for schedulability analysis. The execution time of the analyzed program is typically obtained by combining results from program flow analysis (such as number of iterations in loops) with low-level timing information. This paper proposes a method for low-level timing analy...

Constraints on Mantle Electrical Conductivity from Field and Laboratory Measurements

A global geomagnetic response function, sensitive to the average radial electrical conductivity structure of Earth’s mantle to depths of at least 1800 km, is obtained by averaging published, single-site response functions estimated at periods between 10 – 10 seconds from magnetic observatory records. Although the error bars on the global response function are mostly smaller than 5%, Parker’s D ...

Multiplexer-Induced Interference on TDR Measurements of Electrical Conductivity

The possibility of automated multiple readings of water content and bulk soil electrical conductivity represents a major benefit in soil research, and is one of the most attractive characteristics of the time domain reflectometry (TDR) technique. Coaxial multiplexers are commonly employed to monitor up to hundreds of TDR probes through computer or datalogger interface. We observed that the diffe...
